The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Aba and Bishop of the Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Rev. Isaac Chijioke Nwaobia, has reminded Christian fathers of their sacred responsibility to nurture, guide, and raise godly children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord. He also tasked fathers to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for the next general election.
Father's Day Message
The Archbishop made this statement on the occasion of the Father's Day celebration, which will be observed tomorrow in various churches. He emphasized that children are a heritage from the Lord, and therefore fathers and men should stand as faithful stewards and spiritual leaders within their homes, churches, and communities.
In his goodwill message titled 'Faithful Steward of God's Heritage,' taken from Psalm 127:3–5, the cleric stressed that in an age characterized by moral decadence, family instability, and spiritual compromise, God expects Christian fathers to exhibit godly examples for their children to emulate.
Call to Faithfulness
Nwaobia emphasized that as faithful stewards of God's heritage, fathers should remain steadfast in prayer, diligent in service, committed to family values, and unwavering in their Christian witness. 'Let our homes become centres of godliness, our churches places of vibrant fellowship, and our communities recipients of Christ's transforming love through our lives,' Nwaobia said.
He also extended his warmest felicitations to all fathers, husbands, and men of the Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South on the occasion of the 2026 Father's Day Celebration. While congratulating them for the successful hosting of their maiden Men's Summit, Nwaobia praised them for their commitment to spiritual growth, unity, leadership development, and kingdom advancement.
Commendation and Challenge
He equally commended the various parish men's fellowships for the numerous projects and initiatives undertaken in support of the Church's mission and the development of the congregations. 'Your sacrifices, generosity, and dedication to God's work are worthy of commendation. We wish to encourage the men of our diocese to rise to an even greater challenge by initiating and executing a befitting Diocesan Men's Project that will stand as a lasting legacy of your commitment to God's work and the growth of our diocese. Such a project will not only strengthen the Church but will also inspire future generations of men to serve God faithfully and sacrificially,' Nwaobia said.
He prayed that God will bless all fathers, husbands, and men in the diocese with wisdom, strength, good health, and divine provision, as well as give them grace to lead their families according to God's will.
