Examination malpractice, cultism, and bullying are also persistent issues, now observed even at primary levels.

Prospects and the Role of Technology

Despite these challenges, Falore highlighted positive developments such as the adoption of educational technology, digital learning resources, and artificial intelligence. These tools enhance teaching and learning, providing access to vast information. The curriculum now incorporates entrepreneurship and practical skills, helping students become self-reliant and job creators.

The Importance of Teacher Training

Reflecting on her journey starting with a Grade II Teachers' Certificate, Falore praised the rigorous, practical training of the past. She contrasted it with today's National Certificate in Education (NCE), which focuses on subject specialization but may lack broad-based preparation for primary education. She emphasized that teaching should be a calling driven by passion, not a temporary option.

Prioritizing Girl-Child Education

Falore called on Nigeria to prioritize girl-child education for sustainable development. She noted that educated women contribute to poverty reduction, improved family health, reduced early marriages, and informed parenting. They also participate more in leadership and governance. She expressed hope for a future with a female president and more female governors.

Combating Examination Malpractice

Falore condemned examination malpractice as a crime against humanity that undermines education integrity. She advocated for a zero-tolerance policy and emphasized teaching students to acquire and apply knowledge, not just pass exams. She recommended investment in educational technology and robotics to build competence and confidence.

Maintaining Passion for Teaching

For Falore, teaching was a deliberate choice. She pursued continuous professional development and found joy in mentoring young educators and interacting with students. She personally teaches graduating pupils life skills and leadership values through a 'Finishing School' program.
