TGM Academy: Nigeria’s First Talent Management Training Institution

That Good Media (TGM) is set to launch the TGM Academy, Nigeria’s first dedicated talent management training institution, with a high-profile industry leadership roundtable. The event will take place on July 30, 2026, in Lagos, marking a significant milestone for the country’s creative sector.

What is TGM Academy?

The TGM Academy is designed to address the critical gap in professional talent management training in Nigeria. It will offer comprehensive programs covering artist management, contract negotiation, brand partnerships, and career development. The academy aims to equip aspiring managers and creatives with the skills needed to navigate the complex entertainment industry.

According to the founder of That Good Media, Olumide Iyanda, “The TGM Academy is our response to the urgent need for structured talent management education in Nigeria. We want to professionalize the industry and ensure that talents are managed with global best practices.”

Industry Leadership Roundtable

The launch will feature an industry leadership roundtable with key stakeholders from music, film, sports, and media. Participants include top executives, successful artists, and veteran managers who will discuss the future of talent management in Nigeria. Topics will include ethical practices, revenue generation, and the role of technology in talent development.

The roundtable is expected to attract over 100 industry professionals, with sessions streamed live for a wider audience. That Good Media has partnered with several organizations to ensure the academy’s curriculum meets international standards.

Impact on Nigeria’s Creative Economy

The creative industry contributes significantly to Nigeria’s GDP, yet talent management remains underdeveloped. The TGM Academy aims to change this by producing skilled managers who can maximize the potential of Nigerian talents. This initiative is expected to boost the industry’s global competitiveness and create new job opportunities.

Iyanda emphasized, “We are not just starting a school; we are building an ecosystem that supports talents from discovery to global stardom. The roundtable is the first step in a long-term commitment to the industry.”

Enrollment and Future Plans

The academy will begin accepting applications in August 2026, with the first cohort starting classes in October. Programs will be offered both online and in-person, with flexible schedules for working professionals. That Good Media plans to expand the academy to other cities within two years.

For more information, interested individuals can visit the That Good Media website or attend the launch event. The roundtable will be held at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
