The star will be presented by film icon Tom Cruise and his wife, pop star-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham. Beckham will be honored with the 2,849th star in the Sports Entertainment category.

Ana Martinez of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce stated, "David Beckham's recognition with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in the Sports Entertainment category comes at a fitting moment as the United States prepares to host the FIFA World Cup. During his playing career, Beckham represented Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain. He retired from professional football in 2013.
