The winners of the 12th Africa Magic Movie Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) have been announced. In the Best Sound Design category, the film My Father's Shadow emerged victorious, outperforming its competitors Gingerrr, Ben Made It, The Party, Sebata: The Beast, and The Herd. Additionally, My Father's Shadow also secured the award for Best Writing in a Movie.

The film follows two young brothers as they explore Lagos with their estranged father during the 1993 Nigerian election crisis. They witness both the city's vastness and their father's daily struggles while political unrest threatens their journey home.

To Kill A Monkey won the Best Cinematography category. The 12th AMVCA featured 32 award categories, including 18 jury-voting categories, 11 public-voting categories, and 3 special recognition awards for Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer honors.
