NIPR Lagos Unveils 2026 PRFest for Nation Building

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has officially launched the 2026 edition of the Lagos PRFest, an initiative aimed at fostering professional growth and reinforcing the role of strategic communication in nation-building.

Unveiling at Monthly Meeting

Speaking during the chapter’s monthly meeting and PR Clinic, the Chairman of NIPR Lagos State Chapter, Samuel Ayetutu, described the PRFest as a significant professional initiative. He noted that it brings together communication professionals, business leaders, policymakers, academics, students, and other stakeholders to engage on issues of national importance.

Theme and Focus

The 2026 edition is themed “Security, Nation Building and Public Trust: Fostering Collective Responsibility through Strategic Public Relations.” Ayetutu explained that the festival focuses on the critical intersection of security, nation-building, and public trust at a time when strategic communication has become indispensable to national development and social cohesion.

Ayetutu urged members and communication professionals across the country to actively participate in the festival, emphasizing that PRFest provides an invaluable platform for learning, networking, mentorship, industry collaboration, and professional growth. He added, “Public relations practitioners have a crucial role to play in fostering trust, promoting responsible communication, and strengthening the relationship between institutions and the public. PRFest 2026 will provide a unique opportunity for stakeholders to collectively examine these responsibilities and contribute to national development.”

Planning Committee Assurance

The planning committee chairman, Bolaji Abimbola, assured members that all arrangements are being put in place to ensure a successful event that meets the expectations of participants and stakeholders. The chapter chairman and selected leaders subsequently unveiled the theme and programme of activities for Lagos PRFest 2026.

Week-Long Activities

The week-long festival will feature a sports and fitness event, the launch of PR mentorship and leadership clubs, a practitioners’ hangout and African night, a media tour of Lagos, a yearly conference lecture, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Members, communication professionals, corporate organisations, government agencies, students, and other stakeholders are urged to participate in the various activities lined up for the festival.

The event is scheduled to take place from July 3 to 9, 2026, in Lagos.
