Pastor Korede Komaiya, founder of The Master's Place International Church, has triggered widespread debate after telling his congregation that anyone who follows his teachings can become a millionaire in 90 days and cross into billions within six months. The viral sermon, delivered during a church service, has sparked mixed reactions across social media in Nigeria.
Pastor's Bold Promise to Worshippers
While preaching about supernatural speed and the power of God's presence, Komaiya made the declaration before worshippers, urging them to apply his spiritual instructions for financial breakthrough. "If you do what I teach, you will be a millionaire in 90 days, if not shorter. If you do what I teach, you will cross billions in six months. Look at all the good reports, look at all the good reports, look at all the good reports," he said.
The pastor also described life as a race where speed plays a major role in determining success. "Life is a race and in every race, speed is a determinant. Life is a race and because life is a race, speed becomes important. Speed is critical because life is a race," he added.
Biblical Reference to Elijah's Supernatural Speed
To support his point, Komaiya cited 1 Kings 18:46, where the Bible says the hand of the Lord came upon the prophet Elijah, enabling him to outrun King Ahab's chariot. Quoting from the Amplified Classic Bible, he said: "And when supernatural speed answers, 1 Kings 18:46, in the amplified classic, 1 Kings 18:46, the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah, giving him supernatural strength."
He explained that Elijah's ability to overtake others was a sign of supernatural speed. "He gathered up his loins, outran. When the hand of God is upon you, you will always overtake," Komaiya said. He repeated the point for emphasis: "You will always overtake. The hand of the Lord was upon Elijah the prophet. The hand of the Lord was upon Elijah. He outran. Supernatural speed empowers you to overtake."
God's Presence as the Anchor of Success
The preacher linked financial success to what he described as supernatural speed through God's grace and presence. According to him, the real source of supernatural speed is God's presence. "But look at it. What is the anchor for supernatural speed? The hand of the Lord was upon Elijah," he said.
Komaiya went on to explain that Elijah's experience was made possible by the Holy Spirit, God's grace and His presence. "The anointing of the Holy Spirit was upon Elijah. The grace of God was upon Elijah. The presence of the Lord was upon Elijah," he stated.
He concluded by saying that God's presence, grace, glory and majesty are what produce supernatural speed that goes beyond human ability. "So therefore, the presence of the Lord, the grace of God, the glory of God, and the majesty of God is the seal that engenders supernatural speed," he said. He added: "That is speed that is beyond normal. That is speed that is beyond logic. That is speed that is beyond human understanding."
