Nollywood Actress Victoria Ajibola Reveals Heartbreaking Betrayal by Husband and Best Friend
Nollywood actress Victoria Ajibola, widely recognized by her stage name Omo Local, has publicly disclosed the traumatic events that led to the dissolution of her first marriage. During a recent appearance on Oyinmomo TV, Ajibola recounted what she described as one of the darkest chapters in her life, revealing a devastating betrayal involving her husband and closest friend.
The Discovery of Dual Pregnancies
Ajibola explained that she discovered she was five months pregnant simultaneously with learning that her best friend was three months pregnant with her husband's child. This revelation came at a time when she should have been celebrating her own pregnancy, instead plunging her into emotional turmoil.
"When I was married, I was five months pregnant while my friend was also three months pregnant for my husband," the actress revealed during the emotional interview.
She emphasized that the betrayal was particularly painful because of the intimate bond she shared with the friend involved. "Me and this friend did so many things together and I thought we loved each other," Ajibola added, suggesting the pain might have been more manageable if the other woman had been a stranger.
Religious Complications and Family Pressure
The situation became increasingly complex due to the religious background of Ajibola's in-laws. Her father-in-law served as a pastor while her mother-in-law was a prophetess who owned a church. According to Ajibola, tensions escalated when the family of the pregnant friend allegedly began threatening church members, demanding that her husband marry their daughter.
Ajibola made her position clear regarding the possibility of a polygamous arrangement: "I said I could not stand a polygamous home because it is not written in the Bible." She further revealed that her husband initially refused to take responsibility for the pregnancy, adding to the emotional strain.
Desperate Measures and Intervention
Overwhelmed by the mounting pressure from multiple directions, Ajibola reached a breaking point. She admitted to attempting to end her life in a moment of despair, a decision she now deeply regrets.
"They immediately started administering an anti-poison to keep me alive," she recalled, explaining that a young child discovered her and alerted her father-in-law, prompting immediate intervention that saved her life.
Reflecting on the entire ordeal, the actress expressed profound regret, stating she wished she had never learned of the betrayal or that it hadn't involved someone she trusted so completely. The experience has left lasting emotional scars, though she continues her career in Nollywood while navigating the aftermath of these traumatic events.
The interview has sparked widespread discussion about trust, betrayal, and mental health within relationships, particularly in high-profile marriages. Ajibola's candid revelations provide a rare glimpse into the personal struggles faced by celebrities behind their public personas.
