Big Brother Naija Season 11 has introduced a new twist that could allow two housemates, Aikou and Flora, to compete for the ₦160 million grand prize after they had been sidelined as Gambits. During Sunday's live eviction show, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced the "Operation Release the Gambit" twist, giving viewers the power to decide whether Aikou, Flora, or both would be reinstated into the competition.
How the Gambit Twist Works
Ebuka explained that the polls would open for viewers to decide the fate of the Gambits. "The polls will open, and you will decide whether to release one or both of the Gambits, giving them the opportunity to play for the prize. The power is in your hands," he announced.
Aikou and Flora became the season's first Gambits earlier this month after a public vote. Flora polled 29.38 per cent to claim the female spot, while Aikou secured the male position with 9.10 per cent. As Gambits, they were guaranteed safety until the finale in exchange for giving up their eligibility to win the prize.
Viewers' Choice and Voting Details
Viewers now have three options: reinstate Aikou, reinstate Flora, or bring both back into contention. Voting opened immediately after Sunday's live show, and the outcome will determine whether the Gambits can rejoin the race for the ₦160 million prize.
This development is significant because both housemates had accepted the trade-off, knowing they could not win. The twist now makes that deal negotiable, potentially changing the dynamics of the game.
Sunday's Double Eviction
Before the Gambit twist was unveiled, Sunday's live show delivered a double eviction. Sultex and Goddessa became the sixth and seventh housemates to exit the competition this season. Sultex polled 4.77 per cent of the votes, while Goddessa received 5.02 per cent. Bells, who also faced eviction, survived with 5.22 per cent.
Seventeen housemates now remain in the house. The evictions and the Gambit twist have set the stage for a dramatic continuation of the season, with viewers playing a pivotal role in shaping the competition.
