An Islamic cleric who had publicly promised to deliver herbal treatment for ailing Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, visited him at a Lagos hospital on Wednesday and returned with a deeply concerning update about the actor's condition.
The cleric, known on Facebook as Alihamidtv, said on Thursday, August 20, 2026, that he fulfilled his promise and brought litres of herbal concoction to the facility. However, before he could gain access to Ogogo's ward, he had to reduce the herbs into smaller portions due to standard medical restrictions on traditional remedies.
Cleric Describes Ogogo's Condition as Critical
Upon seeing the actor in person, the cleric said he was shaken by what he encountered. He stated that Ogogo's health had deteriorated significantly, leaving him too weak even for herbal intake.
"I saw Alhaji Hassan Ogogo yesterday at the hospital; at this junction, he only needs God's intervention. In fact, he doesn't even have strength for herbs at the moment; he can't even eat anymore," the cleric said.
Despite leaving the herbs with Ogogo's family, the cleric admitted that the herbal remedy may no longer be a realistic solution given the actor's current state.
Cleric Calls for Public Prayers
Alihamidtv urged the public to continue praying for the veteran actor, acknowledging that divine intervention is now the primary hope. He said the herbs, though delivered, cannot substitute for God's grace at this critical stage.
"Pls let's continue to put him in our prayers. There's nothing our God cannot do, though I dropped all the concoction with them yesterday, It takes the Grace of God at this point," he added.
The update has moved many fans and followers online, with several calling on God to intervene in the veteran actor's situation. In related news, Legit.ng reported that actor Jide Kosoko addressed offers for spiritual assistance to Ogogo.
