Frankie Muniz, best known for his role in Malcolm in the Middle, and his wife Paige Price Muniz have announced their divorce after a decade together. The couple shared the news on social media on July 1, revealing that they had undergone a private period of separation before making the decision.
Statement of Mutual Respect and Co-Parenting
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Frankie Muniz, 40, wrote that after 10 beautiful years, they realized their relationship is most natural and strong as a deep friendship and co-parents. He emphasized their shared commitment to their 5-year-old son, Mauz Mosley Muniz, who remains the center of their world. Muniz expressed gratitude to Paige for her support, noting that she put her own dreams on hold to help him pursue his career. He stated, 'That foundation of respect and friendship isn't going anywhere.'
Continued Collaboration in Racing
Despite the divorce, the couple affirmed their excitement to continue building Muniz Racing together and co-parent their son with teamwork and love. Muniz returned to stock car racing in 2023 after a decade-long hiatus due to injuries, competing in the ARCA Menards Series and currently racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Social Media Post Removed and Replaced
The initial divorce announcement was accompanied by a video of the family dancing but was later deleted. The couple reposted the same statement with a family photo instead. Paige Muniz commented on the post, expressing sorrow that Frankie felt compelled to remove the video due to online cruelty. She wrote, 'Divorce is bad, sure - it's not like we're excited about it… but we're two adults who know how to be on the same team.'
How They Met
Frankie and Paige met in 2016 at a celebrity golf event where Paige was working as a presenter for a golf network, according to People magazine. They announced their engagement in 2018 and have been married for seven years.
