Anita Chinwe Ihebinike decided to conduct her own research into the actress's birth year amid circulating claims that Regina was married as a minor to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko. Rather than accepting existing narratives, Anita took matters into her own hands by checking the INEC database.
The investigation revealed that Regina Daniels' date of birth on the electoral commission's portal is October 10, 1998, which would make the actress 27 years old currently and 21 at the time of her marriage to Senator Nwoko.
Social Media Revelation
Anita shared her findings publicly along with a screenshot as proof, writing: "I did the digging myself to see evidence. You know as a VDM stan account, if no evidence, we no dey believe." She explained that she visited the INEC portal after seeing posts about Regina's voter's card information.
Her discovery directly contradicts claims that Regina was underage when she married the politician, who has multiple wives. If the INEC records are accurate, Regina was legally an adult at 21 when she entered the polygamous marriage.
Public Reaction and Conflicting Narratives
The revelation has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media, with many expressing confusion over the varying accounts of the actress's age.
One commenter noted: "She couldn't have been 17 years when Ned married her. Do the maths - she was already acting movies back to back in Asaba Nollywood by then."
Another highlighted the conflicting information: "Which one should we believe? The mother said she was 20 when she got married, she said 17, online inlaws said 19. Confusion everywhere."
