Nollywood actor and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that President Bola Tinubu's Chicago State University certificate is fake, alleging it did not originate from the institution. The statement adds to the ongoing debate over Tinubu's educational qualifications, which has included claims that he did not attend any higher institution, as well as unverified allegations regarding his primary and secondary school records.
Okonkwo Calls for Focus on 2027 Election
Speaking on Wednesday, August 19, Okonkwo urged Nigerians to prioritize removing President Tinubu from office in the 2027 election rather than dwelling on his certificates and educational background. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Okonkwo wrote: “Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate did not emanate from the University, it is fake. The most important thing in 2027 is to get Tinubu out of power.”
ADC's Vision for 2027 and Igbo Alignment
Okonkwo also called on Igbos to strategically align with other groups if the South-East region is to produce Nigeria's future president. He expressed confidence in the ADC's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, asserting that Atiku would establish a transformational government if elected. “Ndigbo needs wise alignment with other people to achieve being President in Nigeria. Atiku will establish a transitional and transformational government to rebuild Nigeria that Tinubu is destroying,” Okonkwo added.
