Pastor Chris Okafor Begs Doris Ogala on Knees After Her Arrest: Inside the Truce
Pastor Begs Doris Ogala on Knees After Her Arrest

The dramatic legal feud between Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor has taken a stunning new turn, with the cleric allegedly begging on his knees for a truce following her controversial arrest.

Arrest and Dramatic Plea for Peace

Doris Ogala was arrested in Abuja on Saturday, December 20, 2025, while appearing on an Instagram livestream. She was subsequently flown to Lagos, where she remained in custody until her release on Monday, December 22. The arrest was reportedly linked to accusations she made against the founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.

According to insider accounts from activists involved in securing her freedom, the situation reached a critical point when Pastor Chris Okafor arrived at the police command. Jamiu Towolawi, coordinator of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement, told SaharaReporters that the pastor "fell flat on his knees and begged" Ogala. Towolawi stated that Okafor pleaded with the actress to allow peace to reign, suggesting the arrest was an attempt to intimidate her into silence.

The N1 Billion Lawsuit and Closed-Door Meeting

The backdrop to this confrontation is a N1 billion lawsuit filed by Ogala against Pastor Okafor over an alleged failed marriage promise. Following his dramatic plea, the two parties reportedly engaged in a closed-door meeting that lasted nearly an hour to discuss this pending legal matter.

It was after this meeting that Ogala was released from police custody on what were described as "health grounds." Comedian DeeOne, who had earlier claimed "suspicious items" were found during a police search, later expressed concern for Ogala's mental well-being following the ordeal, calling for prayers for the actress.

Ogala Involves DSS and Controversy Widens

In a separate development, Doris Ogala has escalated the matter by calling on Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate Pastor Okafor's church altar. Speaking on the KAA Truths podcast, the actress alleged that someone died during the altar's construction and claimed a blogger discovered "something on the ground," which prompted Okafor to contact her.

The controversy has also drawn in other religious figures. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) has faced criticism for officiating Pastor Okafor's wedding to his wife, Pearl. Christian leader Dr. Charles Apoki publicly questioned the moral implications of Ashimolowo's involvement, given the unresolved allegations surrounding Okafor.

The saga, which blends celebrity drama, religious authority, and legal battles, continues to unfold, with the public awaiting the next chapter in this high-profile Nollywood and clergy dispute.
