In a significant move to champion positivity and community impact, celebrated Nigerian entertainer and tech entrepreneur, D'banj, has joined forces with the United Nations to launch a major national initiative. The Nigerian Youth Positively Driven (NYPD) was officially unveiled at the UN@80 celebration held in Abuja, marking a powerful collaboration aimed at reshaping the national narrative.
A National Call for Positive Action
This announcement comes hot on the heels of Afreximbank's recent equity acquisition in D'banj's C.R.E.A.M Platform, further solidifying his venture into the tech and empowerment space. The NYPD initiative is conceived as a nationwide movement, a direct call to all Nigerians to actively document and share the positive actions, inspiring deeds, and tangible community impact happening around them every day.
D'banj described the initiative as a crucial effort to redirect national attention. He emphasized the need to move away from negativity and focus on the real, uplifting stories that are actively shaping Nigeria's future.
How the NYPD Portal and Rewards Work
The heart of this movement is the NYPD portal, which is now live and accepting submissions from across the country. The platform features one of the largest ongoing positive-impact reward systems in Nigeria.
The reward structure is designed to benefit both creators and witnesses of positive change:
- Featured individuals whose positive actions are highlighted can win a substantial ₦1,000,000 grant.
- Community members who upload and report these inspiring stories earn a ₦250,000 grant.
These financial rewards are issued on a weekly basis, creating a continuous cycle of motivation and recognition for grassroots positivity.
Amplifying Impact Through the Creative Alliance for Peace
The initiative's reach extends beyond immediate cash rewards. After the C.R.E.A.M Platform identifies and rewards the 'NYPDians', the selected entries are transferred to the newly formed Creative Alliance for Peace.
This alliance, also launched at the event, is tasked with the long-term amplification and development of these positive stories. A major focus will be on promoting renewable energy solutions and sustainability projects that have a direct, uplifting effect on communities throughout Nigeria.
D'banj spoke passionately about the potential of the creative industry, stating, "When you talk about the creative industry, we all know that today, content is the biggest export that we have as a nation. Unfortunately, we don't have enough strong alliances or platforms where the youths can effectively access support."
He further highlighted the untapped potential, adding, "Africa is the biggest when it comes to creativity, and we have not even scratched 20%. I think it is so important to come together to have that voice. We're moving and the movement is called Nigerian Youths Positively Driven (NYPD)."
The NYPD portal is officially open for submissions, inviting every Nigerian to be part of a movement that rewards positivity and promises to change lives. To participate and potentially win life-changing grants, Nigerians are encouraged to visit the official portal.
