DJ Pretty Play Recovers After Historic 300-Hour Marathon Attempt

Nigerian DJ, cultural curator, and performer, DJ Pretty Play, is currently in recovery following an extraordinary 300-hour non-stop DJ marathon aimed at setting a new Guinness World Record. The Akwa Ibom-born, Lagos-based artist surpassed her initial target of 288 hours, performing continuously for 12 days from March 3rd to March 15th, 2026, at Bay Lounge in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Endurance Feat and Health Challenges

After completing this intense endurance feat, DJ Pretty Play is now receiving medical treatment for swollen legs, extreme fatigue, and breathing complications, which currently require oxygen support. Despite these significant health challenges, her determination remained unwavering throughout the entire attempt. During the marathon, she faced several obstacles, including a restart after an inadvertent song repetition four days into the challenge. Nevertheless, she persevered with remarkable resilience, taking only five-minute breaks per hour to maintain the non-stop performance.

Showcasing Music and Cultural Impact

Her performance featured high-energy music, rhythm, and dynamic crowd engagement across a diverse range of genres, including Afrobeats, Afrohouse, Hip-Hop, and Amapiano. DJ Pretty Play is widely recognized for her clean mixes, creative transitions, and powerful live performances. She has previously performed at major platforms such as Big Brother Naija and the AFRIMMA Awards in the USA, and has collaborated with notable artists like Magnito and Skales.
