MC Fish Breaks Silence on Marriage Breakdown with Anita Joseph
Nigerian hype man Fisayo Michael, popularly known as MC Fish, has finally spoken candidly about the end of his marriage to Nollywood actress Anita Joseph. In a recent interview, the nightlife entrepreneur revealed that he chose peace over staying in a relationship that had become toxic and emotionally draining.
Marriage as a Learning Experience
MC Fish emphasized that he does not view his failed marriage as a disaster. Instead, he considers it a learning experience. Using an educational analogy, he said: “Marriage is not something that should scare anybody. I feel like marriage is a school, just like moving from primary school to university.” He added that people should not fear relationships because one union did not work out.
According to him, marriage should be seen as a process of growth, not a final examination. “I failed in my first marriage, but I just see it as life. Whether it is a loss, gain, success or failure, I see it as life,” he explained.
Irreconcilable Differences Led to Split
Addressing the reasons behind the separation, MC Fish stated that both parties reached a point where their differences could no longer be resolved. He described the relationship as gradually becoming unhealthy. “The reason why it ended was irreconcilable differences. It was not just working, but rather it was becoming toxic and hearing funny news. I decided to walk away for my peace and everybody’s peace of mind,” he said.
Respect for Ex-Wife Remains
Despite the separation, MC Fish made it clear that he still holds Anita Joseph in high regard. He dismissed claims from critics who accused him of riding on her fame. “I still respect my ex-wife,” he said. He noted that he had already built a successful career over 16 years in the nightlife industry before meeting the actress.
The couple, who were known for their public displays of affection and playful videos, surprised fans when Anita confirmed the end of their union in December 2025. MC Fish’s recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo has now provided clarity on the matter.
Public Reaction and Seer’s Vision
Following the breakup, a woman seer reportedly sent a message to Anita Joseph and MC Fish about their calling. The seer, who also foresaw Jnr Pope’s death, stated in a video that the pair cannot run away from their calling, acknowledging that the actress is a “mummy GO” and that the journey might not be easy. However, MC Fish remains focused on his peace and career.
