Residents of Noforija in Epe and its environs recently experienced a profound demonstration of compassion as Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Lagos Region 1, Lekki Mega Regional Axis, Igbo Efon, organized a large-scale humanitarian outreach. The initiative drew hundreds of beneficiaries, combining free medical services, food distribution, clothing distribution, and skill empowerment programs to provide immediate relief and equip participants for long-term self-reliance.
Free Healthcare, Food, and Clothing Distribution
At the heart of the outreach was a comprehensive medical program where qualified health professionals attended to residents at no cost. Community members received medical consultations, basic treatments, and health advice, addressing conditions that might otherwise go untreated due to financial constraints. Beyond healthcare, the ministry distributed food items to families to cushion the effects of rising living costs. Beneficiaries said the intervention would significantly ease the burden on their households. For many, the outreach served as a rare opportunity to access essential healthcare services.
Part of Explosive Evangelism Initiative
Speaking on the outreach, the Senior/Mega Regional Overseer, MFM Lekki Mega Regional Axis, Pastor Moses Adebowale, said the gesture is part of the Explosive Evangelism Initiative (EEI) of the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya. Adebowale, who spoke through Pastor Olufemi Odelabi, Assembly Pastor, MFM Lagos Region 1, Igbo Efon, Lekki, said Dr. Olukoya had instructed all MFM churches to touch people’s lives positively and spiritually through evangelism programs and physically through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. He thanked the General Overseer, MFM Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and his wife, Dr. Folashade Elizabeth Olukoya, “the Apostle of Deliverance and selfless philanthropists,” for their passion in ensuring that souls are won for Christ, delivered from darkness, and that lives are transformed while physical needs are met. Adebowale noted that apart from biblical teachings and deliverance programs, MFM has embarked on several life-touching projects including scholarships for indigent but brilliant students, skills and cash empowerment for widows, youth empowerment and training, orphanage donations, and prison evangelism with rehabilitation and reintegration of freed inmates.
Winning Souls Through Service
District Evangelism Leader in charge of Lekki/Ajah Axis, Evangelist Patience Udeme, said the aim of the Food Evangelism and Medical Outreach is to win souls for Christ and depopulate the kingdom of darkness, as well as put smiles on the faces of the people by attending to their physical needs. “In a bid to win more souls for Jesus Christ, the church constantly embarks on food evangelism, market, street, prison, and orphanage evangelism apart from different crusades and film shows,” Udeme said.
Medical Team Report
Head of the MFM Medical Team, Dr. Victoria Olubukunola Ayeni, said many residents were attended to. Services included Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) tests, Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Full Blood Count (FBC), blood pressure checks, and other blood tests. Pregnant women, ulcer patients, and patients with stroke and pile were also attended to.
Skills for Self-Reliance
A standout feature of the event was the free skill acquisition and empowerment segment. Participants were introduced to practical vocational skills such as soap making and perfume making, designed to foster entrepreneurship and financial independence. Organizers emphasized that empowering individuals with skills is key to breaking cycles of poverty and building sustainable livelihoods. The church also reached out to widows with free food supplies and cash gifts to boost their businesses, welfare, and support their children’s education.
Residents Commend Initiative
Residents of Noforija praised the effort, describing it as impactful and timely. Many called for more organizations to emulate such initiatives, stressing the positive difference it has made in their lives. As the outreach concluded, it left behind more than supplies and services, instilling renewed hope and a sense of community solidarity. For the people of Noforija, the intervention stands as a reminder that compassion and collective action remain powerful tools for societal transformation.
