NFL Star Ben Cleveland Settles Divorce with $550,000 Payment to Estranged Wife
NFL Star Ben Cleveland Pays $550K in Divorce Settlement

Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman Ben Cleveland has reached a significant financial agreement with his estranged wife, Kaitlyn Terrell Cleveland, to settle their divorce proceedings. Court records reveal that Cleveland has committed to a lump sum payment of $550,000 as part of the settlement, which was filed in Georgia in late January 2026.

Details of the Divorce Settlement Agreement

According to the settlement agreement, obtained by The California Post, the $550,000 payment is structured to include funds allocated for paying off a 2024 Land Rover that Ben Cleveland has agreed to transfer to Kaitlyn's possession. In return for this substantial payment, Kaitlyn has relinquished her rights to certain real estate properties previously owned by the couple.

Property and Personal Item Division

The agreement outlines a detailed division of personal property between the former spouses. Ben Cleveland has surrendered any claims to items including a golf cart, various rugs and pillows, bedroom furniture, and kitchen dishes that were in Kaitlyn's possession. Conversely, Kaitlyn has agreed to return Ben's firearm and thermal scope to him.

Additionally, the settlement allows Ben Cleveland to retain full possession of two properties located in Georgia. Both parties have committed to covering their own legal expenses and have included a mutual non-disparagement clause in the agreement, prohibiting either from making negative comments about the other or posting about each other on social media platforms.

Legal Proceedings and Background

While a judge has not yet formally approved the settlement agreement, Ben Cleveland filed a motion last week seeking to expedite the judicial review process. The divorce proceedings were initially initiated by Cleveland in February 2025, shortly after his arrest for driving under the influence. In his court filings, Cleveland cited adultery as grounds for the separation, though Kaitlyn subsequently denied these allegations in her formal response to the court.

Marriage Timeline and Current Status

The couple married on July 21, 2022, and separated on December 29, 2024. Neither party has made any public statements regarding their breakup. Kaitlyn's attorney, J. Chase Wilson, confirmed to The Post on Monday that they are bound by the settlement terms from commenting publicly on the matter.

Ben Cleveland, who reached a plea agreement to resolve his DUI case in late 2025, began his professional football career five years ago when the Baltimore Ravens selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers.
