Father Ugwu specifically addressed the trending clip showing Odumeje and Flavour walking together in matching black outfits. The priest stated that Odumeje now serves as "an antidote to some of the madness we experience in this country." He confessed that while he previously criticized the preacher's methods, he now recognizes the value in making people laugh during difficult times.
"I used to criticize Odumeje in the past, but not anymore," Father Ugwu explained. "He makes people laugh in ways no comedian can, and for me, that is a blessing in a country like Nigeria." The priest emphasized that Nigeria's constant stream of depressing news, particularly about kidnappings and security failures, makes such entertainment particularly valuable.
