Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has sponsored photographer Jeffrey Oboh-Oshioke, widely known as Juicyjeff, to pursue a filmmaking programme at the London Film Academy in the United Kingdom. The sponsorship was disclosed by Juicyjeff in an Instagram post on Tuesday, where he documented his travel from Lagos to London and expressed deep gratitude to Akindele for her support.
A Dream Journey from Lagos to London
In his post, Juicyjeff narrated his movement from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London, describing the experience as a beautiful journey to be living. He credited Akindele, whom he affectionately called “my mummy,” for her incredible generosity and genuine belief in him, which he said turned a long-held conversation into a real-life experience.
“From Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, to Gatwick, London... what a beautiful journey to be living! My mummy, @funkejenifaakindele, out of her incredible generosity and genuine belief in me, has given me an opportunity I will never take for granted - to come to London and pursue my passion for filmmaking at the London Film Academy,” he wrote.
Gratitude for Unwavering Support
Juicyjeff thanked Akindele for recognising his potential and for using her resources to open doors for him. He acknowledged that her support had moved his dream from mere discussion to a tangible reality, and he promised never to take the opportunity for granted.
“Mummy, thank you for seeing something in me, believing in my potential and using your heart to open this door for me. Your support has moved this dream from a conversation to a real-life experience. Mummy, my God will bless and perfect all that concerns you in Jesus' name. I will never take this for granted Ma,” he stated.
