Reality television star Kourtney Kardashian has openly discussed her personal wellness habits, making a surprising revelation about still breastfeeding her two-year-old son, Rocky Thirteen Barker.
A Candid Wellness Discussion in New York
The 46-year-old founder of the Lemme wellness brand shared this intimate detail on Tuesday while speaking at the Women’s Wear Daily’s Beauty Inc Awards in New York. Kardashian participated in a panel named “Lemme Lead: Redefining Wellness & Access,” alongside her business partner, Simon Huck.
During the conversation, which focused on health and accessibility, Kourtney, who welcomed Rocky with her husband Travis Barker in November 2023, was asked about the source of her energy as a mother of four. She gave a straightforward and honest answer.
“Honestly, I have no idea. I wonder that. I do no alcohol. I’m breastfeeding,” she stated, directly linking her abstinence from alcohol and her continued breastfeeding as key components of her vitality.
Personal Choices and Daily Non-Negotiables
Her co-founder, Simon Huck, playfully interjected, reminding her that she was once known as a “matcha girl.” Kourtney replied that she looks forward to having matcha again, even though it is technically permissible to consume caffeine while nursing. According to a Daily Mail report, she clarified that her decision to avoid both caffeine and alcohol is a personal choice she has made for herself.
Beyond her dietary choices, the Kardashians star elaborated on her daily wellness non-negotiables. These include taking daily walks, consistently using her supplements, and ensuring she gets a minimum of eight hours of sleep each night.
Dressed in a sharp white suit for the event, she also shared how she personally uses her Lemme products. She mentioned taking the liquid colostrum supplement directly, rather than mixing it into coffee, as she completely avoids caffeine.
Balancing Motherhood and Wellness
As a mother to Mason, Penelope, and Reign from her previous relationship with Scott Disick, and now baby Rocky with Travis Barker, Kourtney spoke about the constant challenge of balancing personal wellness with parenting.
She emphasized that her approach relies on moderation and consistency. She also touched on a universal truth for many parents, noting, “Sometimes moms come last… there’s only so much time in the day.”
When it comes to business, Kourtney revealed that she doesn't frequently seek advice from her famous mother, Kris Jenner, or her siblings. She explained that business is rarely a topic of conversation when the family is together. However, for serious matters requiring clarity, she still turns to her mom, Kris, for guidance.
This revelation about extended breastfeeding comes as healthcare experts typically recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, with continued breastfeeding alongside complementary foods advised from one year of age and beyond.
