Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has stated that a woman's success should not make her husband feel insecure, emphasizing that genuine love means celebrating one's significant other's achievements without turning it into a competition.

In a post shared on her Instagram page on Sunday, August 30, the actress said most women are genuinely happy for their male partners whenever they become successful but oftentimes, men find it uneasy when their women become successful. She said they end up feeling emasculated, inadequate, and disrespected even when the woman has done nothing to make them feel that way.
Her post reads: "Most women are genuinely happy when their man becomes very successful. In fact, many women pray for it. They want their husbands to win because they see his success as a win for the family."
Men's Struggles with Role Reversal
The actress continued: "But a lot of men struggle when the tables are turned. When the woman starts earning significantly more, some men begin to feel emasculated, inadequate, or disrespected. Even when she has done absolutely nothing to make them feel that way."
She noted that "Suddenly, every little disagreement becomes, 'It's because you have money more than me.' And that's the real issue." Njoku added: "Sometimes the disrespect isn't coming from the woman. It's coming from the man's own insecurity about what her success means about him."
Call for Celebration, Not Competition
The actress concluded: "So yes, I think this point is valid. A woman's success should not make a man feel smaller. And a man who truly loves his woman should be able to celebrate her success without turning it into a competition. But their Ego no go gree."
