Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has revealed that she was once deliberately excluded from children's parties because she did not have a child, a painful experience she says left her questioning her relationships.
Painful exclusion from children's celebrations
Mo Bimpe, who recently welcomed triplet boys with her husband, actor Lateef Adedimeji, opened up about the emotional toll of being left out of baby showers, naming ceremonies, and children's birthday parties. She shared the experience after attending the first birthday party of Rakeem Mkambala, son of Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
The actress said the event brought back memories of a difficult chapter in her life, when close friends and loved ones omitted her from celebrations involving children. According to her, the exclusion was not accidental but intentional, driven by her childlessness at the time.
Struggling to conceive and facing insults
Mo Bimpe recounted moments of confusion and hurt, saying she often wondered what she had done wrong. She noted that some people she laughed with, worked with, and genuinely cared about deliberately left her out because she had no children.
“There was a time when I wasn't invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children's birthdays, or anything related to kids. Sometimes, these were people I knew personally. People I laughed with, worked with, and genuinely cared about. I remember wondering what I had done wrong. Later, I found out that some people intentionally left me out because I didn't have children. At the time, it hurt deeply,” she said.
The actress explained that the exclusion compounded the emotional weight of trying to conceive, which was already difficult. She described the waiting, the questions, the insults, and the silent prayers as hard, and urged people to show more compassion to women who are yet to have children.
Appeal for compassion and inclusion
Mo Bimpe appealed to the public not to make life harder for childless women by excluding them from celebrations. She emphasized that a woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration.
“Please don't make it harder by excluding people. A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration,” she said.
Welcome of triplets and new chapter
Her comments come months after she and her husband, Lateef Adedimeji, welcomed triplet boys after years of marriage. The couple announced the arrival of their three sons in May 2026, with Lateef describing their birth as an answer to prayers after a difficult period marked by public scrutiny and hurtful comments.
Mo Bimpe has since described motherhood as a major transformation in her life. In August, she reflected on the journey with the words, “From waiting to wonder. From tears to thanksgiving,” as she prepared for the thanksgiving ceremony for her sons.
