In a heartwarming Christmas gesture, a United States-based philanthropic organization has extended its generosity to a congregation in Ogun State, providing essential food supplies to church members.
Christmas Cheer Delivered to Arigbajo Congregation
The LOLAHARRIS Foundation Inc., USA distributed a variety of food items to members of St. John’s Cathedral, Arigbajo, in Ogun State. The donation, which took place during a church service, aimed to bring festive joy and relief to the community. The foundation's core mission is to put smiles on the faces of the needy within society.
The relief package included essential staples such as:
- Rice
- Vegetable oil
- Spaghetti
- Various other edible goods
A Lifelong Dream of Giving Comes to Life
The Founder of the foundation, Mrs. Ololade Famuyiwa Gbomina, explained the motivation behind choosing this particular church for the December 2025 outreach. She stated that the Christmas season presented a perfect opportunity to reach everyone in the congregation.
Mrs. Gbomina revealed that her charitable dream began at the tender age of six and was finally realized in 2015. "I’m a bit emotional whenever I think about what prompted my move. It all originated from a place of love I have for humanity," she shared. She emphasized that her actions are not driven by a desire for reward. "This life itself is a gift, and every resource we have is given. Why not give to others in need?"
Roots in Faith and Community
The founder also highlighted her deep personal and family connections to the church and the area. Her late father, Chief Solomon Amoo Famuyiwa, was a rooted member of the church, born and raised in Arigbajo. Her mother, Mrs. Margaret Ajoke Famuyiwa, was also a devoted member. Chief Famuyiwa previously served as the former Baba Ijo of African Church Cathedral, Ita Iyalode, Abeokuta.
Mrs. Gbomina noted that this outreach is part of a broader effort that has already touched many communities. Looking ahead, she expressed hope for the foundation's future impact: "God helping us, in the next one year, we wish to have reached as many people as we could." She concluded by advising other well-meaning individuals to find ways to support those in need.
