Nony 4DGD's 'Many Men': A Tale of Struggle and Resilience

Fast-rising Afro-Pop artist Opeloyeru Basit, known professionally as Nony 4DGD, has released his latest single, Many Men, a reflective record exploring themes of struggle, resilience, and self-discovery. The Lagos-born singer describes the track as a sonic window into the silent battles people face while chasing survival and success in a highly competitive world.

Released on Wednesday, May 20, across all major streaming platforms, the song carries a message of persistence, courage, and relentless ambition. “There’s this quiet war beneath the surface of everyday life,” he said. “You learn that the door untouched by a thousand knocks may finally move under a thousand kicks. Push harder, become more assertive, and take risks.”

A Personal and Honest Record

For the budding artist, Many Men is more than a standard Afro-Pop release. It is a deeply personal work shaped by his upbringing in Lagos, a city he credits for defining both his sound and his worldview. “Growing up in Lasgidi where one hustler knows many hustlers and everybody carries an incredible hunger for success, that Lagos birthed me. And you know what they say… Lion no go ever born goat,” he added.

The single also marks a significant moment in Nony 4DGD’s artistic evolution. He admits that his earlier work was driven more by imitation than identity, and that Many Men represents a conscious departure from that. “When I started, I was just trying to sound like someone else. Now I’m learning to sound like myself. Many Men is the clearest proof of that growth. It’s the most honest I’ve ever been on a record,” the singer stated.

Overcoming Creative Doubts

He also revealed that the project nearly never made it out of the studio, describing a creative process marked by doubt and frustration that ultimately became its driving force. “There were moments in the studio where I wanted to scrap everything and start over, but that frustration became the fuel. The final version was recorded almost entirely in one late-night session. Something just unlocked,” he added.
