The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has broken his prolonged silence regarding the escalating marital crisis between actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. In a detailed Instagram post, Rollas provided startling revelations about the situation, stating that the young actress needs help and calling out colleagues for their silence.
Why the AGN President Broke His Silence
Emeka Rollas explained that he had maintained deliberate silence until now due to his professional and personal relationships with both parties. Ned Nwoko serves as the Chairman of the Board of Patrons for AGN, while Regina Daniels is an active guild member. Rollas also acknowledged knowing Regina and her mother personally, emphasizing that he remained quiet out of respect for what he considered a family matter, not fear.
The AGN president expressed frustration at being repeatedly tagged in the ongoing drama, compelling him to finally address the situation publicly. He revealed that many within the Nollywood industry are aware of the truth but have chosen to remain silent, leaving him exposed to public criticism.
Shocking Revelations and Personal Experiences
Rollas shared several personal encounters that highlighted the couple's strained relationship. He recounted a specific incident where Senator Nwoko imposed travel restrictions on his wife ahead of an AGN event in South Africa.
"Senator Nwoko called me personally and gave a condition that he would only allow Regina to travel if I promised she wouldn't travel through Lagos. This is a fact, and I state it because it has been twisted against me repeatedly," Rollas disclosed.
In another revealing account, the AGN president described a scene during Regina's son's birthday celebration at a popular playground in Wuse 2, Abuja. He claimed that Nwoko publicly confronted Regina about her smoking habit in front of friends and AGN members.
"Your husband made a statement to you regarding your smoking habit... He expressed concern and said publicly that he has involved your family and is now saying it in front of your father in the industry since you refused to stop," Rollas wrote, confirming the incident was witnessed by multiple people.
Calling Out Industry Silence and Misinformation
Emeka Rollas directly addressed several Nollywood colleagues who witnessed concerning behavior but remained silent. He specifically named Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji, who were all present during Regina's last production.
"We all know she needs help. Your silence is unfair, and it leaves me exposed to attacks for matters I did not create," he stated emphatically.
The AGN president also criticized the widespread misinformation about Nwoko's financial contributions to the guild. He clarified that the ₦200 million frequently attributed to AGN was actually meant for Regina's film production.
"Regina and her mother have repeatedly claimed that you funded AGN, rented and furnished the office, and donated ₦200 million to the Guild. At our office launch, you said the ₦200 million was for your wife, not for AGN," Rollas explained, expressing frustration at having to constantly correct this misconception.
Criticism for Both Parties and Political Ambitions
While expressing concern for Regina, Rollas didn't spare Senator Nwoko from criticism. He questioned the senator's decision to publicly address marital issues on social media rather than handling them privately.
"Sir, you are not without blame. It is not good for a man of your status to go on social media and publicly call out your wife in something I still believe can be handled internally," he advised.
Rollas also turned his attention to Regina's mother, Rita Daniels, hinting at her political ambitions within the guild. He suggested that Rita's focus should be on her daughter's wellbeing rather than AGN presidency aspirations.
"If your daughter's home and health are in distress, AGN elections should not be your priority. All those people cheering you up to go become AGN President are your enemies," he warned.
The AGN president concluded by emphasizing that seeking help is not a crime and reminded everyone that many guild members have received support through difficult times, with the organization playing a crucial role in their recovery.
