Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Television (LTV). This follows the disengagement of the former General Manager, Mrs. Sola Kosoko.
Appointment Letter Presentation
The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, presented the appointment letter to Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi during a brief ceremony held at his office in the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja. Agoro stated that the appointment was in recognition of Oyekanmi's dedication, diligence, and selflessness in his duties as a public servant.
Agoro expressed confidence in the appointee's ability to reposition Lagos Television and wished him a successful and impactful tenure. He noted that Oyekanmi's track record demonstrates his capacity to lead the organization effectively.
Professional Background
Before his new appointment, Oyekanmi served as Director of the Strategy Centre at the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, a position he has held since 2022. He is a seasoned brand communications practitioner with over three decades of professional experience spanning both the private and public sectors. His expertise includes advertising, public relations, and global export services.
Oyekanmi began his public service career as a Public Affairs Practitioner on March 1, 2000, with the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy. He is a Lagos State indigene from Isale Eko, Lagos Island, and has received several awards recognizing his dedication, hard work, and commitment to journalism.
Education and Memberships
Oyekanmi holds a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Education from Lagos State University. He is an active member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). Additionally, he is a voracious reader and a passionate lawn tennis player. He currently serves as the Charter President of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Toastmasters Club.
