Globacom SheGlows Summit 2026: Women Leadership Growth

Globacom hosted the third edition of its SheGlows Summit on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, reaffirming the company's commitment to fostering women's leadership and professional growth. The summit, themed Lead. Thrive. Grow., gathered women from across the organisation for a day of learning, reflection, and conversations on leadership, personal development, and building supportive communities.

Leadership and Support from Globacom's Top Executives

In a goodwill message delivered by Esther John, Head of Strategy in the Office of the Executive Vice Chairman, Globacom's Executive Vice Chairman, Mrs Bella Disu, stressed the importance of creating opportunities for women to learn, build meaningful relationships, and support each other's development. The message also acknowledged the leadership of Globacom's Chairman, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr., whose commitment to employee development has enabled initiatives like SheGlows.

Mrs Disu described leadership as "the difference we can make wherever we find ourselves," adding that there is always more to learn, discover, and achieve regardless of one's stage in life or career. Mrs Jumobi Mofe-Damijo, Chair of the SheGlows community, emphasised the need to intentionally recognise, appreciate, and celebrate women's achievements, noting that the community's true strength lies in members' willingness to participate, contribute, and support one another.

Insights from Accomplished Professionals

The summit featured three professionals who shared practical insights on leadership, workplace effectiveness, personal growth, and building a lasting legacy. Dr Kehinde Nwani, Founder and CEO of Meadow Hall Group, challenged participants to recognise their capacity to lead irrespective of titles. "Leadership is not positional; you can start leading from where you are," she said, encouraging women to take initiative.

Nneka Jethro-Iruobe, a human resources and rewards expert and former Director of People & Change at KPMG, discussed professional presence, personal accountability, and ownership. "Seeing what needs to be done and doing it regardless of whose responsibility it is," she noted, highlighting initiative as key to demonstrating leadership. Grace Ofure Ibhakhomu, CEO of Lifecard Investment Company Nigeria and Lifecard Dubai, urged participants to look beyond present circumstances. "Your beginning is part of your story, not the limit of your future," she said, reinforcing vision, resilience, and long-term thinking.

Interactive Panel and Ongoing Initiatives

The sessions included an interactive panel discussion moderated by lawyer and media personality Olive Emodi, who also hosted the summit. Participants engaged speakers on navigating professional challenges, building confidence, recognising opportunities, and pursuing continuous development. Beyond the summit, SheGlows offers structured initiatives including the SheGlows Scholarship Fund, launched in 2025, which has supported four women to date with two beneficiaries each year. The community also runs a mentorship programme now in its second cohort, guided by the principles Support. Build. Mentor.

In closing remarks, Mrs Kemi Fadipe commended organisers, speakers, and participants, highlighting the importance of active participation in sustaining a thriving community. She encouraged attendees to carry the SheGlows spirit beyond the summit by continuing to recognise achievements, share knowledge, and build relationships. The SheGlows Summit remains a platform for connection, shared learning, and collective growth, reflecting Globacom's commitment to fostering a workplace culture where women are recognised, supported, and encouraged to lead, thrive, and grow.
