Sundry Markets Free Medical Outreach Brings Healthcare Hope to Yenagoa Residents
Sundry Markets Limited (SML), the proprietor of Marketsquare, Nigeria's largest indigenous grocery retail chain, has reinforced its dedication to community welfare through the "Marketsquare Cares" medical outreach program. This initiative aims to broaden healthcare accessibility and enhance health results for marginalized populations across Nigeria.
Company Leadership Highlights Commitment to Community
Emmanuel Isangediok, the Head of Marketing at SML, articulated in an official statement that the complimentary medical outreach held in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, embodies the company's steadfast commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for underserved communities throughout Nigeria.
The program, executed in collaboration with Pro-Health International, delivered an extensive array of services. These included complimentary medical consultations, specialized surgical procedures, comprehensive eye care, blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, dental examinations, and informative health education sessions.
Managing Director Expresses Gratitude and Social Responsibility
Ebele Enunwa, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SML, conveyed enthusiasm regarding the community participation and underscored the beneficial influence of the medical outreach. "Yenagoa has bestowed considerable support upon us. Our inaugural store commenced operations here in 2015, and we acquired numerous invaluable insights. The community exhibited profound affection, and this initiative represents our method of reciprocating to society," Enunwa remarked.
He elucidated that patronage from customers empowers SML to contribute to the community, stating, "Providing assistance becomes more feasible when resources are available. When patrons expend funds within our establishments, it enables us to reciprocate with additional contributions."
Enunwa further accentuated the corporation's dedication to social accountability, affirming, "We are assisting society in wealth distribution through the most effective means at our disposal. This constitutes our approach to returning the affection demonstrated by the residents of Yenagoa."
Substantial Impact and Extensive Medical Interventions
In aggregate, 3,772 patients received medical attention throughout the outreach, encompassing over 9,800 medical interventions. These interventions spanned general consultations, surgical operations, ocular procedures, dental treatments, health promotion activities, and laboratory investigations.
