Sundry Markets' Free Medical Outreach Provides Vital Care to 3,772 in Yenagoa

Sundry Markets Limited (SML), the owner of Nigeria's largest indigenous grocery retailer Marketsquare, has reaffirmed its commitment to community support through a significant medical outreach program in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State. The initiative, titled "Marketsquare Cares," is designed to enhance healthcare access and improve health outcomes for underserved populations across Nigeria.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services Offered

In partnership with Pro-Health International, the free medical outreach provided a wide range of essential services to residents. These included free medical consultations, specialised surgeries, eye care procedures, blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, dental check-ups, and comprehensive health education sessions. The program successfully delivered over 9,800 medical interventions, covering general consultations, surgeries, eye procedures, dental care, health promotion, and laboratory investigations.

Company Leadership Expresses Commitment

Emmanuel Isangediok, Head of Marketing at SML, emphasized that the Yenagoa outreach reflects the company's dedication to improving healthcare access for underserved communities. Ebele Enunwa, Managing Director and CEO of SML, expressed enthusiasm about the community turnout and highlighted the positive impact of the medical outreach.

"Yenagoa has given us a lot. Our first store opened here in 2015, and we learned many valuable lessons. The people showed us love, and this is our way of giving back to society," Enunwa stated. He further explained that customer support enables SML to contribute to the community, noting, "It is easier to give when you have. When customers spend money in our stores, it empowers us to give back with a little extra."

Expanding Social Responsibility Efforts

Enunwa emphasized the company's commitment to social responsibility, saying, "We are helping society distribute wealth in the best way we can. This is our way of returning the love that the people of Yenagoa have shown us." Sundry Markets Limited has previously conducted similar medical outreach programmes in various locations, including Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Benin City in Edo State, and Aba in Abia State, successfully providing healthcare services to thousands of underserved individuals across these areas.
