The Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area in Enugu State, Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, was among the APC leaders and party chieftains who joined Governor Peter Mbah for the flag-off of the party's campaign for the Enugu North Senatorial District bye-election. The election is scheduled for June 20.
Campaign Flag-Off Event
Deputy Governor Ifeanyi Ossai represented Governor Mbah at the flag-off ceremony, which took place at the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Headquarters on Wednesday, June 10. The APC candidate for the bye-election is Ikeje Asogwa.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ukwueze said: "Today, we took the first decisive step towards delivering our Senatorial candidate, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, whose candidacy represents a shared aspiration for effective and responsive representation in the Senate."
Commitment to Victory
He further noted that leaders, stakeholders, and the people of Enugu North Senatorial District reaffirmed their commitment to securing victory at the bye-election. They recognized the importance of sending a competent, experienced, and people-oriented representative to the Senate.
Mr. Ukwueze emphasized: "As the bye-election draws closer, it is important that we remain focused, united and consistent in our grassroots mobilisation across every community. The enthusiasm and energy displayed by supporters is a clear indication that the message of progress and development continues to resonate strongly with the people."
He expressed confidence that with unity, dedication, and collective effort, Chief Ikeje Asogwa would be sent to the Senate to represent Enugu North Senatorial District.
Re-election Bid
Meanwhile, Mr. Ukwueze recently secured the APC ticket to run for re-election as chairman of Igbo-Eze South council.
