FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has directly challenged Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, pointing out that President Bola Tinubu failed to secure even 10% of the votes in Imo State during the 2023 general elections. Wike's remarks came as a sharp rebuttal to Uzodinma's recent comments distancing the Progressives Governors from any coalition outside the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Wike's Rainbow Coalition.
Wike Questions Uzodinma's Electoral Credibility
Speaking on the election results, Wike noted that the APC managed to win only two Senate seats from Imo State in 2023, while the Labour Party secured one. He questioned what Uzodinma's position implies about the voters in his own state, asking whether the governor was suggesting that Imo voters were confused when they cast their ballots. Wike argued that if Tinubu could not win a tenth of the votes in a state governed by an APC governor, Uzodinma's criticism of others carries little weight.

The visit followed Adeleke's earlier meeting with President Bola Tinubu, where he presented his Certificate of Return. Adeleke defeated APC's Bola Oyebamiji with 511,067 votes in the August 15 governorship election.
