In a statement released by Felix Morka, the party's spokesperson, the APC also announced the rescheduling of the state House of Assembly primary elections for Maradun I and Maradun II constituencies in Zamfara State. These elections are now set to take place on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
According to Morka, the changes were approved by the APC National Working Committee (NWC) following extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders. The decision aims to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process within the party.
The cancellation and rescheduling come amid ongoing preparations for the 2026 general elections. The APC has urged all members and aspirants to adhere to the new timelines and cooperate with the party's leadership to ensure successful primaries.
