APC Kogi East Forum Tells Akpabio, Faleke to Stop Interference

The All Progressive Alliance (APC) Kogi East Elites Forum has called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio and APC chieftain James Faleke to allow stakeholders in Kogi state, especially Kogi East, determine the political direction of the senatorial district without external interference. They warned that attempts to manipulate the process of all primary elections held in Kogi could be counterproductive and affect the party’s fortune in the general elections.

Group Calls for Democratic Process

The group, in a statement signed by the lead spokesperson and critical member of the Kogi East APC Elites Forum, Dr. Ben Ogwuche, said party members in Kogi should be allowed to resolve issues relating to the APC senatorial candidacy through established democratic processes. The group expressed support for Chief Joe Erico, describing him as the preferred choice of many stakeholders in the district.

The forum maintained that internal democracy remains vital to the success and unity of the APC, stressing that decisions reached through party processes should be respected. “Our purpose is simple and clear: to reaffirm our collective support for Chief Joe Erico, whom we recognise as the candidate who emerged through the accepted democratic process,” the group stated.

The forum also appealed to the APC national leadership to uphold fairness, transparency and justice, while urging party members across Kogi East to remain calm, united and committed to the party.
