The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has unveiled a series of prophetic warnings and predictions for the year 2026, setting the stage for a turbulent period leading to the 2027 general elections. The revelations, presented at a church conference on Saturday, December 21, 2025, come weeks before the traditional New Year's Eve prophecies common among Nigerian clerics.
Political Storm and Betrayal Warnings
Primate Ayodele forecasted that the 2027 presidential election will be intensely competitive, with victory hinging not on party allegiance but on integrity, delivery, and substance. He issued a specific caution to President Bola Tinubu regarding his re-election bid, predicting that opposition would emerge from within Nigeria's northern region.
The cleric stated that some northern elders would actively work against Tinubu, necessitating that the President strengthen his political alliances in the South-East, North-Central, and North-East geopolitical zones. Ayodele further warned of impending blackmail campaigns against the President.
In a stark admonition, the INRI Prophet alerted President Tinubu to the risk of betrayal from his inner circle. Most of the elder statesmen he intends to trust will ultimately betray him, Ayodele claimed. He advised the President to fortify political networks across key regions to maintain a competitive edge.
The prophecies also highlighted potential political violence, with opposition elements allegedly sponsoring attacks on All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign convoys and billboards in the North. Ayodele alleged that vote buying and electoral theft would be rampant, implicating two major political parties.
Atiku, EFCC, and Governance Challenges
Turning to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the cleric warned that he would become a central figure in blackmail schemes. Ayodele also predicted that some former aides of President Tinubu would defect to work for the opposition.
On governance, he foresaw significant upheaval, including the indictment of top officials in the current administration and the removal of at least one minister. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would expose numerous politicians, a move that would trigger resistance against the anti-graft agency and its leadership.
Despite the outlined challenges, Primate Ayodele stated that President Tinubu would exert extraordinary effort—politically, economically, spiritually, and technically—to secure a second term. However, he emphasized that the election season would prove more difficult than anticipated.
Protests, Security, and Economic Forecasts
The prophecies for 2026 include significant public unrest. Ayodele predicted at least eight major protests against the Tinubu administration, including action by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). He also warned that convoys belonging to National Assembly members, state lawmakers, and governors could face attacks.
On national security, the cleric described a mixed outlook of peace and betrayal within the security apparatus. He called for prayers to avert plane crashes in Nigeria, Africa, and globally, mentioning the possibility of emergency landings and a military aircraft crash.
Economically, Nigerians should brace for an unstable power sector. Ayodele warned of unreliable electricity supply, frequent national grid collapses, and rising power costs. He also indicated that treasury bills would create problems for certain banks, leading to changes in their leadership and operational models.
On a positive note, he projected increased revenue from tourism and improvements in the nation's cybersecurity framework.
Dangote, Sports, and Global Predictions
One of the most striking predictions involves a major fallout between President Bola Tinubu and Africa's wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote. The cleric did not specify the cause of the anticipated clash.
In the sports sector, Ayodele foresaw the death of a prominent Nigerian boxer and a footballer. He also predicted technical disruptions for major telecom operators like MTN and Glo.
On the international stage, the prophecies include the development of nuclear weapons by some African and Asian nations. Ayodele claimed the United States would remove sitting presidents and create difficulties for major tech firms, including TikTok, Google, and Amazon.
He forecasted rising tensions between Iran and the European Union, and warned that attempts by NATO and the EU to confront Russia would be unsuccessful. For Nigeria, he cautioned that the country's relationship with France could pose a threat to its sovereignty.
Primate Elijah Ayodele has built a reputation over the years for his comprehensive annual prophecies, which span politics, security, the economy, sports, and global affairs.
