Bright the Seer Says Atiku Not Destined to Be Nigeria's President in 2027
Bright the Seer: Atiku Not Destined for Presidency

Prophetess Bright Ndibunwa, known as Bright the Seer, has declared that former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is not destined to become Nigeria's president. The statement comes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bright the Seer's Prophecy

Bright the Seer, founder of The Lord of Hosts Miracle Chapel in Lagos, made the assertion on Tuesday, May 5, via a social media clip. She stated that divine revelation indicates Atiku is meant to be a kingmaker and adviser, not a president.

“The spirit of God has been revealing to me that politicians in Nigeria and all over the world, it is in their nature. They move from one political party to another to look for the one that is OK for them. And the spirit of God is talking about ADC, that they would be doing some things in some northern part of the country, not that big, as expecting, which everyone is seeing,” she said.

“And the spirit of God is talking about Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, when he was contesting with Labour, I said it. He is not destined to be president. He is destined to be like a kingmaker, adviser, take care of orphans.”

Atiku's Presidential Ambitions

Atiku has made six unsuccessful attempts to become Nigeria's president, making him the most persistent candidate in the country's history. In early 2026, he reiterated his intention to contest the presidential primaries of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating he would not step down for anyone.

The ADC is positioning itself as a coalition to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027. However, Nigeria's electoral history shows that an incumbent president has lost only once, in 2015, when Goodluck Jonathan conceded to Muhammadu Buhari after an opposition merger.

ADC's Primary Election

Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC national spokesperson, disclosed that the party's presidential candidate would ideally emerge through consensus, but primaries will be held if consensus fails. The presidential primary election is scheduled for Saturday, May 23.

The opposition coalition believes removing President Tinubu is the only way to “take Nigeria back” from those it claims have hijacked the country. However, this remains a challenging task given historical precedents.

Atiku Not Retired

Earlier reports indicated that Atiku accused “anti-democratic elements” of attempting to create confusion and dampen the momentum of the ADC. According to a statement by his media office, insinuations that he has quit active politics are fake news.
