President Bola Tinubu on Friday, June 1, appealed to young Nigerians not to abandon Nigeria for other countries but to stay back and build the country. According to him, great nations are built not by those who abandoned them but by those who stayed back to solve the problems.
Democracy Speech
While delivering his democracy speech, the President said: 'Our democracy is not perfect but it is ours and we must continue to defend and strengthen it. In the coming days, Ekiti and Osun states will hold elections. I urge INEC, security agencies, and all parties to ensure that these polls are peaceful and credible. Democracy fails when citizens doubt the process.'
He added: 'Criticize me, disagree with me but never stop believing in Nigeria. To our young people, Nigeria is your home. Build here, code here, work here and vote here. Every great nation was built by those who stayed through to solve problems and not by those who abandoned the ship.'
