Tinubu Honours Pro-Democracy Activists, Journalists

President Bola Tinubu has announced the conferment of national honours on more Nigerians who fought against military rule. The Nigerian leader, in a televised broadcast on Friday to mark this year’s Democracy Day, listed some of the individuals to be honoured.

Honoured Journalists and Military Officers

Those to be honoured include prominent journalists such as Sam Omatseye, Lade Bonuola, Ike Okonta, and Muyiwa Adekeye. Retired military officers honoured include Major Generals Ishola Williams and M.A. Garba.

“The honours list will be released in the next few days,” Mr Tinubu said. The Nigerian leader had during last year’s Democracy Day also honoured some Nigerians.
