President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on a significant end-of-year tour, spending the Christmas period across three Nigerian states. The itinerary, officially confirmed by the Presidency, outlines a journey blending official duties, condolence visits, and cultural engagements.

The plan was formally disclosed in a statement issued on Friday, December 19, by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. According to the schedule, President Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, December 20.
His first destination is Borno State in the North-East. Here, the President is scheduled to commission several development projects executed by both the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum and the federal government. Furthermore, he will attend the wedding ceremony of the son of former governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
A Condolence Visit and Cultural Return
From Borno, the President will proceed to Bauchi State. The primary purpose of this visit is to console the government and people of Bauchi, and specifically the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. The revered Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood passed away on Thursday, December 27.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was a deputy chairman of the Fatwa Committee of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and a prominent spiritual figure trained under notable Islamic scholars.
Following his engagements in the two northern states, President Tinubu will return to his home state of Lagos to celebrate the end-of-year holidays. A key highlight of his Lagos schedule is his role as the Guest of Honour at the Eyo Festival on December 27.
The festival, to be held at Tafawa Balewa Square, will pay tribute to distinguished personalities, including the President's late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
