3 Suspects Remanded in FRSC Officer, Daughter Ritual Murder

An Osun State Magistrate's Court in Osogbo has ordered three men to be held in custody over their alleged involvement in the gruesome ritual murder of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her young daughter.

Court Orders Remand Pending Legal Advice

The three suspects – Gboyega Daramola, 39; Sunday James, 38; and Fajemirokun Victor, 36 – were arraigned on Friday, January 16, 2026, before Magistrate O. A. Daramola. The court, in suit number MoS/M-53/2026, granted an application by the Osun State Commissioner of Police to remand the defendants at the Ilesa Correctional Centre. They are to remain there until February 6, 2026, pending the receipt of legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The police motion, supported by an affidavit from the Investigating Police Officer (IPO), Inspector Babawale Taiwo, cited the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Osun State, 2018, as the basis for seeking the remand order.

Chilling Details of the Alleged Crime

According to the affidavit, the case came to light when Oluwafemi Fajemirokun and Mariam Fajemirokun reported their younger brother, Victor Fajemirokun Emmanuel, missing on November 10, 2025. He had reportedly left Osogbo for prayer activities at Ikoyi Prayer Mountain on November 2, 2025, and never returned.

During the investigation, police discovered a link to the disappearance of Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, 39, an FRSC officer from the Ogun State Command, and her 10-year-old daughter, Lasisi Adesewa. The mother and child, residents of Obasanjo Hilltop Estate in Abeokuta, had also gone missing on the same date, November 2, 2025.

The affidavit alleges that Victor Fajemirokun murdered the victims for ritual purposes. It states that the respondents "gruesomely murdered the victim and her daughter and dismembered their bodies," identifying Victor Fajemirokun as the mastermind of the crime.

Burial and Police Confession

The remains of Oluwamayokun and her daughter were laid to rest on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery in Ita-Olookan, Osogbo.

Earlier, when paraded by the police at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo, Fajemirokun reportedly confessed to luring the victims to their deaths. He was presented alongside two herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James. Police stated that Fajemirokun admitted to handing the FRSC officer and her child over to ritualists in Osun State.

Magistrate O. A. Daramola, in her ruling, formally ordered that "the defendants be remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Centre until February 6, 2026," as the state awaits the DPP's advice on the charges to be filed.
