Bayelsa Security Apprehends Suspect for Stealing Two TVs

The Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit has arrested and paraded a suspect, Frank Ekewei, in connection with a robbery at Glorified Ambassadors For Christ Assembly, located along NIT Road, Etegwe, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, 23rd May 2026.

Upon receiving a distress call from a concerned citizen, operatives of the security outfit quickly activated their detective unit and launched an investigation. Around 11:00 a.m. on the same day, the suspect, Frank Ekewei, a 20-year-old indigene of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area residing along Deeper Life Road, Okutukutu, Yenagoa, was intercepted and arrested at the Etegwe Roundabout axis of Melford Okilo Road with the stolen items in his possession.

The suspect was taken to the operational headquarters of the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit for interrogation. During questioning led by the Chairman, Oyinkuro Lucky Asanakpo, Ekewei confessed to the crime and revealed that he was lured into the robbery gang by a man named Miracle, believed to be from Benin, Edo State, who is currently at large. Ekewei pledged to cooperate with security operatives by providing information to help arrest the fleeing suspect.

According to the church’s Overseer, Bishop Patterson Kikile, the two suspects arrived at the church premises around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, 23rd May 2026, broke through the back door, and stole a 32-inch Hisense Television and a 50-inch Hisense Television.

Following the agency's operational procedures and ethical standards, the suspect and the recovered items have been handed over to Operation Doo Akpo for further investigation and possible prosecution.
