Sean 'Diddy' Combs has fired back in the ongoing legal battle with music producer Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones, alleging that Jones has failed to provide his medical records as part of the discovery process. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Diddy's legal team argues that Jones has not complied with requests to sign a release granting access to his medical history.
Discovery Dispute
In the filings, Diddy contends that he should not be required to produce a large volume of documents or answer extensive questions from Jones, describing the producer's discovery requests as abusive and improper. Diddy's attorneys state that Jones was supposed to sign a medical release back in November, but the submitted release did not adhere to privacy regulations governing such records.
Third-Party Inquiries
Diddy also objects to answering questions related to actor Cuba Gooding Jr., whom Jones allegedly claimed was involved in an assault aboard Diddy's yacht. Diddy's team asserts that seeking information about the conduct or statements of third parties like Gooding is improper under legal standards.
As previously reported by TMZ, Diddy has denied all allegations, calling the lawsuit a money grab. Jones claims Diddy groped him, touched his buttocks, often walked around naked in his presence, and attempted to coerce him into sexual acts. He also alleges he was drugged and raped at Diddy's home. Jones is seeking $30 million in damages. A judge has already dismissed several of the producer's claims.
Diddy's attorney previously told TMZ: 'Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday. His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.'
