Pattern of Violence

This inhuman act comes amid reports of another deadly attack in Foron, Barkin-Ladi LGA, where six innocent individuals were reportedly gunned down by the same group of Fulani terrorists. The continuous targeting of innocent civilians has become a grave threat to peace, security, and coexistence on the Plateau.

The Mwaghavul Youth Movement expressed particular concern over a dangerous pattern that often precedes such attacks. In recent weeks, social media platforms have been flooded with inflammatory and unsubstantiated narratives by the #Gafdan Media Team, Plateau State, and one Abu Haneefah, among other media agents of the terrorist elements. These narratives aim to demonize the Berom and Mwaghavul people.

Call for Action

Such campaigns of misinformation are reckless, irresponsible, and capable of creating an atmosphere that emboldens violence against innocent communities. The Mwaghavul Youth Movement stated unequivocally that no grievance, real or imagined, can justify the murder of innocent men, women, and children, nor will it compel its members to surrender to terror.

This deliberate taking of human lives is criminal and must be condemned by all people of good conscience. The movement called on the government and security agencies to immediately investigate these attacks, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure that justice is served accordingly.

We are tired of these recurring cycles of attacks and killings without visible consequences for those responsible. The movement urged all citizens to reject divisive propaganda, hate speech, and attempts to criminalize entire ethnic communities, as has been done by known terrorists. Peace can only thrive where truth, justice, and mutual respect exist.

The Mwaghavul Youth Movement stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and all communities affected by these senseless acts of violence. We pray that God grants eternal rest to the departed and comfort to those they have left behind.
