Man Convicted for Prolonged Sexual Assault on 13-Year-Old Girl on London Train
A 50-year-old man has been found guilty of carrying out what authorities described as an "abhorrent" prolonged sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl during a train journey into London. The predator, Abdulmanon Aliev, targeted the vulnerable child by trapping her in her seat and blocking her escape route.
Details of the Disturbing Attack
The assault occurred on June 16, 2025, during a train journey from Southend to London. Aliev, a Tajikistan national residing on Rye Lane in Peckham, initially sat opposite the 13-year-old girl on the London-bound train and attempted to communicate with her using a translator application on her mobile phone. When the victim quickly moved away to another seat, Aliev followed her and positioned himself in the aisle seat, effectively trapping her against the window.
He then subjected the girl to a prolonged sexual assault that continued until the train arrived at London Fenchurch Street station. It was only upon arrival at the station that the victim managed to escape from her tormentor. She immediately boarded another train while Aliev remained at the station.
Investigation and Arrest
Other passengers discovered the girl in a severely distressed state, and she bravely recounted what had happened to them before police were alerted. British Transport Police detectives meticulously reviewed hours of closed-circuit television footage to track Aliev's movements following the attack.
A manhunt concluded when plainclothes officers spotted Aliev in Peckham, south London, and apprehended him. During a subsequent search of his residence, forensic teams discovered the clothing he had worn during the assault, providing crucial physical evidence for the prosecution.
Police Response and Court Proceedings
Detective Constable Elizabeth Cahill of the British Transport Police stated: "Aliev singled out a vulnerable child and subjected her to one of the most abhorrent sexual assaults I have ever investigated. While the focus of attention will rightly be on him as the despicable sexual predator that he is, I want to pay tribute to the brave victim who reported him to police."
Cahill emphasized that the verdict would not have been possible without the victim's detailed account of events and her willingness to support the investigation. She added: "We take every sexual offence report extremely seriously, and we will stop at nothing to put offenders like Aliev before the courts."
Aliev appeared at Inner London Crown Court, where he was found guilty of multiple serious charges, including two counts of assault by penetration, three counts of sexual assault, and attempted rape. The conviction was delivered yesterday following a thorough judicial process.
Sentencing and Aftermath
The convicted predator is scheduled to be sentenced on June 17, 2026. This case highlights ongoing concerns about safety on public transportation and the vulnerability of children in such environments. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of reporting suspicious behavior and supporting victims of sexual crimes through the legal process.
