The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibogun Ward, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, has indefinitely suspended a prominent party member, Chief Joju Fadairo, over allegations of engaging in anti-party activities. The decision was reached during the APC Ibogun Ward General Meeting held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the party secretariat in Akiode, Ibogun, where members reviewed issues concerning the party’s grassroots structure.
Endorsement of PDP Candidate
Last week, Chief Fadairo publicly endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu. During a courtesy visit by Hon. Adebutu to his residence, Chief Fadairo stated that Ogun State was not for sale to non-indigenes, a comment widely interpreted as being directed at the APC governorship candidate, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi. Senator Yayi has previously faced accusations from the opposition of not being an indigene of Ogun State.
Party Decision
The ward meeting concluded that Fadairo's actions constituted anti-party behavior, leading to his indefinite suspension from the party. The suspension is effective immediately, pending further investigation by the party's disciplinary committee.
