The police detailed that the 16-year-old, residing in Romford, was initially arrested on April 4, released on bail, and then re-arrested on April 9 before the charges were filed.

Eghosa Ogbebor, a British-Nigerian youth, was fatally shot in Woolwich, London. Police officers were alerted to the shooting at approximately 4 p.m. on April 2. Despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, Ogbebor was pronounced dead at the scene. The police statement further revealed that three other individuals arrested in relation to Ogbebor's death have been released on bail as inquiries continue. These include two boys aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man, all arrested on April 3. Additionally, on April 10, another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. In a separate development on April 4, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man in Woolwich on suspicion of murder, along with a 46-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender; all three were subsequently released on bail.
