Lagos Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Teen Boy Over Child Correction
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a woman accused of stabbing a 16-year-old boy multiple times in a violent altercation on Amosu Street, Ijegun, within the Alimosho Local Government Area. The incident, which occurred on the evening of Thursday, February 26, 2026, has sparked outrage after details emerged on social media.
Details of the Attack and Victim's Injuries
The victim's cousin, identified as Febechi, brought the case to public attention through a series of posts on her X handle. She shared graphic photos revealing the severity of the boy's injuries: three cuts on the right side of his face, including one perilously close to his eye, three deep wounds on the right side of his chest near the shoulder, and an additional stab wound on his forearm. Blood was visible across his body, highlighting the brutality of the assault.
Confrontation Over Child Correction Leads to Violence
According to Febechi's account, the confrontation began when the 16-year-old boy attempted to correct the suspect's child, advising them to go inside after playing outside for an extended period. The suspect allegedly reacted violently, attacking the boy and then turning on his mother when she intervened. In her emotional posts, Febechi expressed frustration and a desperate plea for justice, questioning why such extreme violence was used in a situation involving children.
"I am heateddd!!! A grown woman stabbed my 16 y/o brother in multiple places because he tried to correct her child, then stabbed his mum when she tried to confront her. Please, I need help getting justice for him," she wrote. She also noted initial delays in police response, with local units reportedly stating they could not make arrests until the following morning.
Family's Pursuit of Legal Justice and Police Confirmation
Febechi emphasized that the boy's parents and older family members are committed to pursuing justice through lawful channels, despite fears the suspect might flee. She described the victim as a quiet and gentle boy unfamiliar with street conflicts, underscoring the shock of the attack. The Lagos State Police Command later confirmed to Punch on Sunday that the suspect had been arrested and the boy was receiving medical treatment.
"The post was engaged, and they were advised to report at the nearest police station, which they did. The boy is receiving treatment at the hospital, and the suspect is presently in police custody," a police spokesperson stated. This assurance comes as the community grapples with the incident, highlighting ongoing concerns about public safety and neighborly disputes in Lagos.
