Married Woman Found Dead in Male Friend's Kano Residence, Police Arrest Suspect
A tragic incident has unfolded in Kano State, where a married woman and mother of five children was found dead at the residence of her male friend in the Sabon Gari area of Kano metropolis. The deceased, identified as Sandra from Abia State, was confirmed dead on April 11, 2026, at No. 47 Aitken Road, Sabon Gari, sparking a police investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding her passing.
Neighbors Report Unusual Events Before Death
According to unconfirmed accounts from neighbors, Sandra had reportedly asked for food shortly before her death. Her male friend, identified as Lucky Isuma, had allegedly gone out to source food when she passed away. Police Confirm Arrest and Launch Investigation
The spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident and announced that the suspect has been arrested. "On 11th April 2026, at about 1030hrs, one Chidera Nwobi, male, aged 22, of No. 47 Aitken Road, Sabon Gari, reported at Sabon Gari Police Division that at about 1000hrs of the same date, he found a female adult, approximately 30 years old, lying unconscious and motionless on a bed inside the room of his neighbour, one Lucky Isuma, male, aged 41, of the same address," Kiyawa stated.
He explained that detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene. "The victim was photographed and no visible marks of violence were observed on her body," Kiyawa noted, indicating that the cause of death remains unclear at this stage.
Medical Examination and Further Investigation
Sandra was promptly evacuated to Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital for a medical examination, where a doctor confirmed her death. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation.
"The Command assures the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death. The outcome of the investigation will be made public in due course," Kiyawa emphasized, urging calm and patience as authorities work to determine the facts of the case.
