The Harrowing Account

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 10, Garrett detailed how her husband allegedly attacked and bit her all over the face shortly after she returned home from the hospital following a Caesarean section delivery.

“Let me re-introduce myself. I am Tanecqua Garrett. For the past year I been hiding and staying out of public eye the best I could,” she wrote. “I am a battered woman. I've been suffering from domestic violence for years.”

She continued, “I finally got the courage to become brave and choose myself. This photoshoot meant a lot to me because it reminds me of what I been through and what I have overcame.”

“I was attacked and bitten all over my face after I came home from my c-section from my husband, an abusive alcoholic. I hate it took so long for me to leave but I’m finally gone and done.”

Garrett’s story highlights the painful reality of domestic violence and the difficult journey survivors face in breaking free from abuse.
